Project Overview:
InterMover is a non-profit startup founded by a group of international students who, like many others, faced challenges adapting to a new city, navigating bureaucratic processes, and sifting through overwhelming amounts of information. Their mission is to simplify the transition for students moving to Bologna, providing them with the resources, guidance, and community support they need for a smooth and fulfilling experience.
As a developer, I took on the responsibility of building their entire website, including the landing page, database, and backend functionalities. This platform serves as a one-stop hub for students to access information, find support, and connect with others in similar situations.
Challange & Solution
Challange
When I joined InterMover, their vision was clear, but they needed a functional,
user-friendly digital platform to bring it to life. The biggest challenges included:
Designing an intuitive landing page that immediately communicates InterMover’s
purpose.
Developing a structured database to efficiently organize resources and user
information.
Ensuring the website was fast, scalable, and accessible, even for users unfamiliar
with
digital platforms.
Integrating community-driven features that encourage student engagement.
Storytelling & Design
Every international student has a story—one filled with excitement, uncertainty, and, at times, frustration. The founders of InterMover understood this firsthand, and so did I. When I started working on the website, I knew it wasn’t just about writing code—it was about building a digital bridge for students navigating an unfamiliar world. I carefully designed the landing page to feel welcoming, informative, and easy to navigate. Behind the scenes, I built a robust database to store essential resources, making sure students could quickly find what they needed. Every feature was crafted with one goal in mind: to make the process of moving to Bologna simpler, less stressful, and more exciting.
